Rozenhof, Dordrecht

The imposing villa Rozenhof was built in the period 1891-1895 on a former country estate of the same name, according to a design by the famous Amsterdam architect A.L. van Gendt. The client was the Count of Judgeen Limburg who moved into the house with his family. He lived there only a short time; After four years, the building was purchased at auction by the Levensverzekering Maatschappij Dordrecht, which had it converted into an office building. The accompanying garden was sacrificed to new construction, only the rosarium was spared. The tax authorities were located there from 1917 to 1977. The building still serves as an office building.
